The following text was written in conjunction with the duo exhibition Safelight by Mads Juel and Trine Struwe at Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, Jan 27th-April 28th, 2024.
The works in the exhibition dealt in different ways with ideas of security, control, visibility and invisibility, based on the red safelight used in the traditional photographic darkroom.
I hand-wrote my text in English on a piece of red paper. The text was subsequently translated into Danish and handwritten by Mads Juel.
